We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and optimize payroll operations for a large hourly workforce. This role requires expertise in managing multi-state payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and streamlining payroll functions to maintain accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, comfortability with hands-on processing, extreme technical proficiency (especially within Excel), and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and execute full-cycle payroll operations for a workforce exceeding 800 employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-monthly payroll across multiple states.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll tax regulations and oversee detailed reporting requirements.
  • Implement and refine payroll procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions, including formulas, macros, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables, to analyze payroll data.
  • Collaborate with finance and HR teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage payroll systems such as Paycor and Sage Intacct, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Provide leadership and training to payroll staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Monitor and audit payroll processes to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Stay updated on state and federal payroll laws to ensure compliance and adapt to regulatory changes.
  • Proven experience in full-cycle payroll management for large organizations.
  • Expertise in multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as Paycor and Sage Intacct.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, macros, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively, with excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
