Description

  • Leads the development and execution of all communications strategies to advance the strategic direction of the unit.
  • Establishes and leads overall communication strategies; oversees the planning, research, and development of content for complex communication initiatives.

Develops and implements measurements to determine the effectiveness of communications plans and strategies.

Develops and maintains client relationships with executives and all levels of management, providing counsel on all aspects of communications.

Engages other parts of the organization to ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and accuracy of message.

  • Provides final review and approval before internal or external communications are released to the assigned line of business.
  • Leads teams, coaches, influences outcomes, and evaluates success as appropriate. Typically has people management responsibilities including but not limited to talent management, performance management, staffing, etc.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.

Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.

Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
