Role Description
The Sr. Commercial Insurance Account Manager will be responsible for managing the agency’s larger client base, and key client accounts.
The position will be responsible for thorough account reviews at renewal and at notice of operational changes, ongoing and annual coverage gap analysis, documented coverage recommendations and ongoing client support.
In addition, the position is responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring the team of 3 commercial account managers and 4 commercial assistants.
The position would serve as the Commercial Department Manager on the company EOS committee and as the primary contact for the commercial department with insurance carrier relationships.
This is a permanent full-time position in either the Coon Rapids, MN or Wayzata, MN office locations with flexibility for some remote work opportunities.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of direct client commercial insurance service experience in an agency or with a carrier or MGA
- Prefer experience in both middle market and small commercial, all lines of business
- At least 3 years management experience leading others on a commercial insurance team or department
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively for self and others
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Strength in managing teams and departments, mentoring, leading and training
- Valid Minnesota Insurance license (or ability to acquire if currently at a carrier or MGA)
- Be internally driven and passionate about life
- Be hungry to learn, humble in your ways and just plain smart
Compensation
Salary range is $80,000 - $100,000 annually for a candidate meeting both the commercial account management experience criteria and team / department leadership criteria.
Additional bonus compensation through contingency is available in this position.
Consideration will be given to applicants on a step-up program who meet the 10 years commercial account management experience criteria, but do not have the team / department leadership experience and are eager to learn and grow into that role.
A candidate meeting this level of experience and requirements would have a compensation range of $60,000 to $70,000 and participate in a 12-month leadership and management program to acquire these skills.
Location
This position requires on-premises in office work weekly. This position will allow for some flexibility with some remote or hybrid work days.
