Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Environmental Services to oversee and grow our current programs, including Construction Stormwater, SCE Biology Program, and Central Valley Biology Program.
In this role, you will also be instrumental in developing and launching future programs as new opportunities arise. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational excellence, business development, and technical leadership, with the ability to manage complex environmental programs while ensuring profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities :
Program Management : Oversee the operational management of our existing environmental programs, ensuring that client expectations and regulatory requirements are met.
Develop and implement strategic plans to expand these programs.
Business Development : Identify new business opportunities, manage bidding processes, and prepare proposals to ensure a consistent pipeline of new work.
This will include maintaining strong client relationships and identifying areas of growth for the company.
Financial Oversight : Manage the financial performance of all programs, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure profitability.
Maximize the utilization of billable staff and maintain efficient operations.
Leadership & Talent Development : Develop and implement staff training programs, focusing on species-specific training to build expertise in the team.
Lead the talent acquisition process to grow the team and enhance service offerings.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations : Act as the primary point of contact for high-level programmatic management of multiple clients, fostering long-term partnerships while ensuring the satisfaction of client needs and regulatory compliance.
- Team Building & Empathy : Lead with empathy and understanding while driving team performance through ambition and strategic direction.

Qualifications :
- 10-25 years of experience in environmental management, business operations, or a related field.
- Strong operational, business development, and technical expertise, preferably within environmental consulting or similar industries.
- Demonstrated experience in writing and managing proposals, bidding for new work, and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities.
- Financial acumen with experience managing program budgets, ensuring profitability, and resource allocation.
- Proven experience in building and leading teams, including recruitment, training, and staff development.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff while achieving business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
