What You\'ll Do

The Epic Games Research & Development team is searching for an experienced hands-on Research Engineer. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for digital humans and experience with machine learning and animation tech. Epic Games creates and deploys advanced computer-vision, computer-graphics and machine learning technologies to transform the production and consumption of digital media. This includes physics based simulation, ML based character animation, neural and inverse rendering and automated generative animation techniques among others. At Epic R&D we research, develop and deploy such technologies for Epic\'s Unreal Engine and other Epic Products.

In this role, you will

• Research and prototype machine learning and generative approaches for game content creation
• Work with development engineers and product engineers to deploy and productize novel technology results in Epic products
• Engage with the scientific community, contribute domain knowledge and advice in support of strategically relevant R&D efforts
• To investigate, develop novel ideas, and expand the boundaries of the state-of-the-art in research
• To contribute deep expertise and actionable knowledge in collaboration with other researchers and engineers at Epic Games. Tech transfer will typically involve working with Research Engineers and / or Software Engineers to provide expert technical guidance and implementation
• To guide and mentor junior researchers and students in the internship program

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren\'t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic\'s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

California Base Pay Range

$209,399-$307,119 USD
