Title : Teacher, IB Coordinator II
Under general supervision, collaborates with staff to enhance student learning by supporting the development and refinement of comprehensive International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) curricula.
Provides resources, training, and guidance to improve the implementation and effectiveness of specialized instructional programs.
Essential Functions :

Tasks and responsibilities will be in concurrence with implementing the Strategic Plan. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Assists with the development, evaluation, and implementation of curriculum as needed. Coordinates and facilitates collaborative writing and planning sessions with program coordinators and teacher teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Develops and prioritizes budgets for IB training and material needs, oversees the requisition and purchasing process, and ensures efficient tracking from initiation to completion.
- Ensures the fidelity of IB program implementation by continuously monitoring progress, engaging stakeholders, modeling instructional lessons, facilitating professional learning communities, and conducting classroom observations.
- Collaborates with district departments and school-based administrators to plan and deliver effective professional development opportunities for educators, aligned with program goals.
- Analyzes assessment data at the school level, using results to enhance instructional programs. Partners with school administration to develop and implement instructional strategies that meet student needs and provide technical assistance to staff.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant federal and state educational policies, assessing their implications for IB and AP programs, and ensuring compliance with all related rules, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to schools and community stakeholders, promoting awareness and understanding of IB and AP programs.
- Designs and implements programs and procedures aimed at improving the effectiveness of IB and AP programs. Regularly evaluates program outcomes to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Works closely with internal and external administrators to share and implement effective IB and AP educational practices.
- Identifies and resolves instructional challenges and communicates outcomes and strategies with relevant district and school-based staff.
- Directs, organizes, and administers special projects as assigned, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Serves as the District’s representative for IB and AP at local, state, and federal meetings and conferences, advocating for program interests and staying informed of emerging trends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university is required.
- Minimum five years of relevant IB and / or AP teaching experience required. Leadership experience is preferred.
- If no school administration experience is held, five years of progressive managerial / administrative level experience in a related industry field is required.
- Requires either a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level L-5, NL-5, PL-6 or in content area at T-5 or above.
If a level L-5, NL-5, PL-6, or above certificate is not held, the individual must be eligible for the NPL certificate in educational leadership.
