Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Coordinator

The Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (HS-DEI") is searching for a talented individual with a passion for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and training others.

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Training Specialist is responsible for the coordination, development, facilitation, and evaluation of diversity, equity, and inclusion workshops and training requests of the Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion under the supervision of the Office Director.

The Specialist develops and implements trainings and workshops for the six Pitt Health Sciences schools - the School of Medicine, the School of Dental Medicine, the School of Public Health, the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the School of Pharmacy, and the School of Nursing.

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Training Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for individuals and units across the Schools of the Health Sciences, including students, faculty, and staff seeking assistance with direct training services, consultation, or assistance with outside training needs.

Additionally, the Specialist will work closely with the office administrative assistant to schedule training and other activities with Health Sciences and University partners.

The Specialist may also assist the director with staffing of graduate and undergraduate recruitment fairs.

The Diversity Training Specialist's activities are expected to be carried out with minor supervision. The Diversity Training Specialist must be capable of setting priorities and working under pressure, be able to multi-task and plan several events simultaneously, and work well with internal and external participants.

Qualifications :

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software is required.

Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Prezi, or other presentation software.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Project management and organizational skills to keep projects and tasks on track.

Flexible and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary

Determines training needs, develops instructional programs to meet management and employee requirements, and conducts studies to determine program effectiveness.

Coordinates and conducts courses and seminars and compiles training manuals and other aids.

Essential Functions

Coordinate all Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training and workshop requests. This includes working with or independent of administrative assistant in securing the event location, scheduling presenters, coordinating the production of event marketing materials and programs, and making all necessary arrangements.

Develop training program, retain presenters, and / or present relevant training materials.

Lead the development of training modules.

Create awareness among of Health Sciences programs and initiatives.

Assist in social media account management.

Assist with creation of Annual Report.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Effort

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
