Production Manager

Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for the Redmond, WA factory including direction of up to two supervisors and approximately 60 direct labor employees in a two-shift operation.

Reports directly to the SVP, Operations. Interfaces with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Finance and Sales.

This role is instrumental in maintaining and improving production processes through effectively managing teams and equipment.

Position is onsite in Redmond, WA.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or related degree, and / or minimum 5 years of practical experience as a Production Manager working in small parts manufacturing and assembly.
  • Medical Device Industry experience highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership, communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and technical skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing implementation and other improvement experience.
  • Experience with process improvement including automation desired.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Work experience in a GMP, ISO / EN environment a plus.

Responsibilities :

  • Plan and manage overall production activity.
  • Ensure the factory is staffed to meet established takt times to meet customer demand across multiple work cells and work centers.
  • Ensure manufacturing personnel training programs are implemented and effective.
  • Ensure cross-training program is effectively implemented and documented.
  • Responsible for wage administration for the direct labor staff.
  • Ensure factory team building activities are conducted on a routine basis.
  • Monitor and measure daily production performance. Ensure the factory takt times are in alignment with the order book.
  • Determine overtime schedules are required to meet customer demand.
  • Responsible for the improvement of factory related scrap and rework.
  • Establish factory work policies in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure the Safety Program is fully implemented and fully effective in collaboration with the Safety Director.
  • Responsible for leading, teaching, guiding, and measuring performance related to the implementation of Lean Principles in the production environment.
  • Understand the Theory of Constraints and recommend or implement solutions to areas of constraint.
  • Key contributor to capital equipment recommendations. Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering for ROI calculation on capital equipment recommendations.
  • Understand KPIs, development thereof and identifies areas and projects & activities to improve KPIs.
  • Full understanding of basic and advanced calculations to schedule factory resources appropriately for current and future needs.
  • Work in accordance with current FDA, ISO regulations.

Salary range for this position is $125-145k per year which is the general base range for a successful candidate in the State of Washington.

The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors such as skills, qualifications and experience.
