Job description

High Fidelity Property Management is expanding its portfolio and is looking for experienced maintenance technicians to assist with maintaining the physical integrity of our rental units located across Chicago.

This involves ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Maintenance Technicians will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner as requested by the Property Manager. This position will travel to, diagnose, and perform minor and routine maintenance or repair on units, involving the following on a daily basis :

  • Electrical and plumbing (including water lines)
  • A / C and heating systems
  • Appliances
  • Water irrigation systems
  • Stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings
  • Tile, carpet, flooring
  • Roofing, gutters, fasteners
  • Interior / exterior lights
  • Fireplaces
  • Ceiling fans
  • Gas fixtures and appliances (where applicable)
  • Shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors
  • Boiler, gas, and electric
  • Change door locks, P.O. boxes, and locks
  • Controlled access systems (where applicable)
  • Ceiling leaks
  • Paint walls
  • Repair drywall

Other Responsibilities :

  • Inspect and help coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services to meet deadlines
  • Report all major repairs and need requisitions to Senior Maintenance Technician and Property Manager prior to any expenditure of funds
  • Change locks, rekey, and make new keys
  • Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant
  • Assist with liens, moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc., to a dumpster when necessary
  • Be knowledgeable of inventory levels of spare parts and supplies weekly; inform Senior Maintenance Technician of shortages
  • Assists in keeping grounds neat and free of litter : rake, sweep, shovel, power wash and pick up trash as circumstances warrant
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by Senior Maintenance Technician and Property Manager

Qualifications :

  • At least 3 years experience in property maintenance or equivalent field
  • Driving / traveling requirements - must have valid license and automobile insurance coverage
  • Passing a criminal background is check required - we take this very seriously!

Pay and Perks :

  • Receive medical and dental insurance effective immediately
  • Paid vacation time earned after 90 days
  • $25.00 - $30.00 / hr based on knowledge and experience
  • We pay overtime when hours go over 40 / week
  • Monthly gas stipend for travel
  • Company issued cell phone

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours : 40 per week

  • 8 : 30am-5 : 30pm
  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating on-call schedule for evenings / weekends every 4 to 5 weeks
