Job Description
What you will be doing :
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery, and case management orders.
- Assist attorneys in scheduling and preparing for depositions, mediations, and trials, including sending out notices, hiring court reporters / videographers, etc.
- Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, imaging, bills, and other materials for client cases.
- Electronically file legal documents in Illinois State and Federal Courts.
- Correspond effectively with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and clients.
- Provide support during legal proceedings, including coordinating case schedules, and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
Experience you will need :
- 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a medical malpractice or personal injury environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with discovery in personal injury cases.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
