The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets;

experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is :

Pay Range : $114, - $178,

The Enterprise Change Management (ECM) Program Manager is a very influential individual contributor role that reports directly to the Vice-President of Institutional Portfolio Management within the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) organization of WGU.

The ECM Program Manager is responsible for the effective, efficient, and impactful execution of the WGU Change Management System at both the strategic and operational levels.

Strategically, the ECM Program Manager will own the WGU 5-Year Change Management Impact Plan, will analyze and summarize proactive change management strategies driven by the WGU Strategic Plan, and will implement change management skills and practices that directly contribute to the expansion of WGU’s Culture of Innovation & Transformation.

Operationally, the ECM Program Manager will lead the WGU Change Management Center of Excellence team, will directly audit on-going change management projects to reduce risk through timely improvement and corrective action feedback, and will mentor both change managers and executive sponsors in their correct use of the Prosci ADKAR change management methodology.

The ECM Program Manager is viewed as the change management expert within the university and is fully responsible for the analysis, professional documentation, and presentation of all materials needed to ensure that change management methodologies successfully support the strategic and operational goals of the university, as well as the key result objectives of our executive leaders and project stakeholders.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

Creates and executes the WGU Enterprise Change Management 5-Year Plan.

Delivers portfolio level change management analysis and action plans as required to ensure the successful execution of all strategic and operational plans.

Performs as a trusted advisor with respect to all change management discipline tools, techniques, or methodologies.

Leads the Change Management Center of Excellence, a small cross functional team proposing standards, best practices, and governance, and reports on the impact of change management practices.

Leads the Change Management Community of Practice, a peer-led network of change managers throughout the university that exchanges information and ideas and shares best practices.

Coordinates trainings based on current needs, assessment gaps on the Prosci ADKAR Change Management process, knowledge, and tools, in partnership with the People Development department.

Leads change management activities according to Prosci ADKAR change management framework, which includes (1) communications plan, (2) sponsor roadmap, (3) coaching plan, (4) training plan, (5) resistance management plan.

Assesses the change impacts of all projects or transformation initiatives on roles, teams, departments, and business processes.

Oversees the continuous improvement of change management plans and portfolio strategies by auditing change management plans, providing continuous improvement feedback, ensuring alignment with business processes and reporting impact to change managers and executive sponsors.

Integrates Prosci ADKAR change management activities into project plans in coordination with project managers.

Mentor department managers and supervisors in their ADKAR change management roles.

Completes change management assessments and presents action plans to executive sponsors, senior management stakeholders, and executive teams.

Evaluates and ensures user readiness prior to and during change implementations.

Works with executives, project owners, and department heads to identify, analyze, prepare, and implement risk mitigation tactics and plans.

Manages stakeholders and stakeholder expectations in coordination with executive sponsors.

Defines success metrics and reports on actual results vs. plan / forecast for the WGU change management system overall and at the individual portfolio levels.

Identifies and manages anticipated change resistance within and across the academic organizations.

Coordinates efforts with other specialists or stakeholders, both internal and external to the university, to ensure successful change outcomes.

Serves as a resource by providing support, coaching, and feedback to Prosci certified Change Managers across the organization.

Owns the analysis of project portfolios for cumulative change management load (change saturation risk) in partnership with management during the annual operations planning and strategic planning cycles.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrates the WGU leadership principles in all aspects of service to students, employees, and partners of WGU.

The person will be the leading expert and resource within the field by peers within and outside the University.

Job Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Information Management, Business Management, Communications, Higher-Education Leadership or equivalent.

Prosci ADKAR Change Manager Certification

Prosci Train the Trainer Certification

Preferred Qualifications :

Ability to Certify (3-day) Change Managers as a certified Prosci Master Instructor.

Project Management qualification (PMP) or equivalent

Green Belt, Black Belt or Master Black Best certification

Knowledge of Agile and Design Thinking methodologies

Lean Silver or Gold certification

Experience working in a university or institution of higher education.

Experience developing and or launching new educational programs or offerings.

Experience with program or product lifecycle management systems.
