Job Title : Quality Assurance Senior Mechanical Inspector

Location : Ontario, CA

Shift : Monday Friday, 5 : 00am 1 : 30 pm

Pay : $28.00 $32.00

Brief Summary of Position :

Works with daily supervision and is responsible for measuring precision piece parts in a repeatable and accurate manner using various inspection equipment such as laser micrometers, air gages, VMM, CMM, etc.

based on the provided schedule. Will be the inspection point of contact for other departments when there are technical conversations.

Responsible for programming the CMMs for the most accurate and reliable measurements. Will also be responsible for suggesting best practices and improving processes based on corrective or preventive actions.

Primary inspector to train other technicians based on the agreed-upon best practices. Must be willing to work overtime when required to meet customer demands.

Essential Functions of the Position :

• Inspect machined parts, purchased parts, and assemblies for FAI, in-process and final inspection
• Must participate / monitor company metrics with the objective to improve processes and inspections
• Must program CMM, OGP or other visual inspection machines for efficient and effective measurement process
• Supports manufacturing with a mechanical and visual inspection
• Records and maintains quality records required by the quality procedures
• Serve as a technical resource on quality control and inspection validations
• Accurately and descriptively communicates helpful information to the manufacturing team
• Ensure company, customer quality, and processing requirements are satisfied
• Facilitate training for company employees as needed
• Responsible for writing NCRs (Nonconforming Report) as required based on part nonconformances
• Must read and interpret GD&T based drawings and set up best practices in measurement methods
• Prepare accurate, written inspection reports, including AS9102 First Article Inspection forms.
• Must participate and contribute to NCR's root cause analysis and corrective actions (Nonconforming Reports).
• Responsible for suggesting best practices in support of preventive action
• Supports the inspection process throughout manufacturing and is the focal point for internal quality issues with manufactured parts.
• Support Engineering and Manufacturing on all quality issues.
• Trains Inspectors and Machinists on proper inspection methods; inspection / sampling plans; proper use, care & handling of parts & equipment;

and proper documentation.

• Applies functional knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
• Other inspection related duties as requested by management

Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)

• High school diploma or equivalent. AA or certification in related field preferred.
• Some college or related trade school education a plus
• Minimum 5 years of precision mechanical inspection experience required with calipers; micrometers; indicators; various gauges, e.

g., height gauges; height masters; air gauges; CMM; VMM.

• Experience with measuring tools and capability of measuring with a tolerance of + / - .0002
• Computer skills, including; Word, Excel, ERP system interface; software driven inspection equipment.
• Must have programming experience for CMM or VMM or OGP.
• Dimensional inspection proficiency, blueprint reading, and working knowledge of GD&T
• Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write comprehensive inspection plans.
• Functional knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and how to apply it.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb / balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
