Job Summary :

Maxar is seeking talented mid-level software engineers to join our team that supports U.S. defense and intelligence community partners.

We are developing the next generation of signal and image processing software, building on our 75+ year history on the cutting edge in the radar and electro-optical fields.

These teams have received numerous patents and developed revolutionary and exquisite technologies throughout our history and continuing with our current work.

What You'll Do :

Take algorithm definitions and prototypes and convert them into robust software applications that run efficiently on large images and are ready for operational environments.

Collaborate with radar / electro-optical and research scientist experts to solve issues and iterate to improve image product quality.

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software applications using modern programming languages and technologies.

Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.

• Build and improve on automated test and verification software and tools.
• Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner.

Minimum Requirements :

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have a Top Secret clearance, willing to get SCI access.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology fields. ( 5 years of professional experience in lieu of degree)
• 5 years relevant work experience.
• Programming skills in C++, Python, and / or JAVA.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Version control experience in Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment to advance large software development packages by taking on and completing tasks independently.
• Must be willing to work on-site.

Desired Qualifications :

• Other language skills : Java, Rust, scripting or similar.
• Academic or professional experience in radar or electro-optical fields.
• Work in formal software development methodologies (Agile).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience writing software implementing algorithms.
• Desire to learn new technologies.

In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all of our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion.

Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience.

The range for this position is : $89,000.00 - $189,000.00 annually.
