University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) seeks an experienced, proactive leader to serve as the Executive Director of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President of Administrative Services, the Executive Director leads a team of six professionals responsible for designing strategies that enhance efficiencies in alignment with best practices to support the UMBC community in supplier selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
With a commitment to partnership, excellence, and continual improvement, the Executive Director provides strategic direction and solutions-oriented leadership for all aspects of the department and manages a procurement spend of approximately $160M across multiple functional areas.
As a collaborative leader, the Executive Director acts as a player-coach and will identify opportunities and strategies to enhance technological utilization and processes to provide excellence in the procurement of a broad spectrum of commodities.
The Executive Director will be responsible for architecting a strategic sourcing plan in the context of a dynamic and changing organization and will serve as the ambassador for contemporary procurement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of progressively responsible leadership roles and experience developing and executing strategic sourcing plans and leading teams.
