Substation Project Engineer - In Office Only

Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a Substation Project Engineer in the Orange County Area. The Substation Project Engineer must understand and can complete all technical requirements of basic to moderate complexity substation projects.

Specific Duties :

• Developing design deliverables including substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing / routing, substation grounding, and major equipment wiring diagrams.
• Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium, and High Voltage).
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and / or factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate design activities with other departments (Civil, Structural, Transmission Line, etc.).
• Assign tasks and provide guidance to junior team members, and coordinate QC reviews for work performed by junior engineers and / or designers.
• Work with Senior Engineers and the Business Class Leader to identify and develop specific technical expertise; attend training and seminars to deepen understanding of complex concepts.
• Conduct quality control reviews of projects from other teams as needed.
• Work independently and potentially direct, mentor, train, and supervise less-experienced EITs and / or Designers.
• Perform site visits during design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
