Finance and Controlling IT Business Manager

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to lead IT support of the Finance Systems : both the functional aspects and the technical and system configurations.

As we transition from SAP ECC to SAP S / 4HANA, this role will be critical as a project manager and subject matter expert.

The IT Business Manager must be skilled at interpreting business requirements to ensure that our processes and systems are configured to achieve those objectives.

They are expected to provide consultation services, leadership, and strategic direction for new technologies or enhancements required or desired by the business or required by the systems.

This involves the direction of Metallus associates as well as external contractors, the project schedule, and the project budget.

Responsibilities

Act as the business process / functional expert, regularly interacting with personnel in other business units (Finance, AR / AP, Purchasing, etc.

as well as other companies, to construct relationships that increase business knowledge, technical expertise and / or validate business systems decisions.

• Provide the technical and functional expertise related to system releases, including regression testing.
• Provide support for security related change requests and security access.
• Lead the team to support standard configuration and / or additional changes classified as Minor Enhancements.
• Set direction for systems overseen by partnering with the Finance team as well as with key service providers such as SAP and external IT consultants.
• Lead all external IT consulting resources and facilitate communication and collaboration between internal customers and external resources.
• Maintain data integrity and compliance in all processes.
• The position requires skill at planning for tasks, and management of timelines and resources to meet those business objectives and good test plans.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, math, business, or related; with 12 years of experience supporting business IT needs; OR
• Master's degree in computer science, information technology, math, business, or related; with 10 years of experience supporting business IT needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, math, business, or related; with 14 years of experience supporting business IT needs; OR
• Master's degree in computer science, information technology, math, business, or related; with 12 years of experience supporting business IT needs

Technical / Functional Skills

• Must be knowledgeable in SAP FI and SAP CO
• SAP S / 4HANA experience or transition experience is a plus
• Expertise in the intersection of SAP and finance systems
• Ability to understand business requirements (specifically in the finance sector), make recommendations for process improvements, and troubleshoot problems effectively
• Ability to collaborate with business users and external resources
• Experience leading a cross-functional team to achieve objectives
• Ability to lead multiple projects to completion simultaneously
• Long-term resource planning and strategic thinking
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to clearly articulate complex ideas
