UNC Rex Hospital is seeking an inpatient Infectious Disease doctor to join their team.

Job Responsibilities :

• Provides professional medical services to patients, both in-person and in a virtual setting.
• Exercises independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients.
• Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care and other health and medical services.
• Prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals.
• Consults and counsels patients and families. Provides health and medical education to patients and families.
• Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to assure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided.
• Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third party insurance billing.
• Supervises other medical professionals.
• Adheres to the principles of medical ethics.

Education Requirements :

• Active member of the Rex Hospital Medical Staff, including meeting the Board Certification in Infectious Disease required.
• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.

Licensure / Certification Requirements :

• Board Certified Infectious Diseases
• DEA; BLS; MD / DO, NCMB

Professional Experience Requirements : Prefer prior inpatient experience.

Founded in 1894, UNC REX Healthcare (a member of UNC Health Care) is a private, not-for-profit health care system that joined UNC Health Care in 2000.
