Responsibilities

Join us in leading the change!

Conduct power system studies which particularly relate to existing and future NERC and regional reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on generator modeling and protection setting coordination.

How you can make an impact :

• Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSS / e, TSAT, ETap, etc.
• Conduct IBR modeling : steady state, short circuit and dynamic in PSSE
• Perform various compliance technical assessment on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, ride through assessment.
• Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
• Capable of autonomously and independently executing on assigned tasks.
• Execute on multiple studies / tasks at any given time.
• Participate in multifunctional teams to obtain / provide input, address client comments, and perform technical studies.
• Assist in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance engineering study completion.
• Ability to provide on the job training or help oversee the work of other Power Systems Engineers and Interns.

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what's needed :

• Strong technical background in power system modeling and transient
• Generator dynamic modeling experience in PSS / E, TSAT or PSLF
• EMT modeling and study experience is preferred
• Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks.
• Flexible with the ability to manage change.
• Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he / she shall own with pride.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a power systems engineer
• Experience performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
• Minimum 2 years of experience with PSS / E, TSAT or PSLF
• Experience automating / programing in Python

Location : This position will be remote

Travel : Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
