Responsibilities

  • Direct HAI’s government relations goals by lobbying at federal level.
  • Build coalitions and expand relationships with key decision-makers, policymakers, and federal elected officials.
  • Contribute to the development of policy positions, strategies, and execution of tactics to influence state and federal legislative activity.
  • Inform, coordinate and mobilize VAI member participation in grassroots advocacy efforts to achieve industry’s government relations goals.
  • Develop and coordinate the materials needed to effectively advocate VAI’s legislative positions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Association to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies and member service programs.
  • Monitor, analyze, and track federal legislation.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum five to seven years of federal legislative, regulatory, lobbying, or political experience.
  • Previous experience with vertical aviation or other aviation-related issues (desired but not required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with prior experience in creating and delivering public presentations.
  • Ability to travel nationally about 10-15% of the time.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Employee must be able to commute to Washington, DC on a regular basis.
