A client has a Controls Engineer positionopen in Orlando FL. This position is responsible forelectrical / controls engineering on largescale projects.
Projectrequirements involve control system design from scratch(hardware / software / network) electrical panel design and powercalculations risk assessment component selection and configurationcontrol system programming and control systeminstallation / commissioning.
JobRequirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.(Bachelors degrees in other disciplines may be acceptable if workexperience is directly related to electrical engineering.
Disciplines outside of the electrical / controls area will not beconsidered
- 5 years relevantexperience.
- Experience in ASTM standardsattractions industry and safety engineeringpreferred.
- Experience doing design via draftingsoftware (AutoCAD preferred)
- Knowledge ofcontract documents and specifications. Ability to collect fielddata and accurately record findings.
- Able toperform the following system design calculations / analysis : Shortcircuit protection harmonics noise reduction / cancellation powerconsumption load flow short circuit protection protectiverelay / circuit design ground fault monitoring safety systemimplementation (SIL / PL rating knowledge ispreferred)
- Knowledge of ride system design forattractions involving guests ispreferred
- Capable of working off shifts asneeded during installation / commissioning to support theproject.
- Ability to perform system designfunctions. Planning Customer Focused Timely Decision MakingInforming Organizing Priority Setting ProblemSolving.
- Experience working withhardware / software from one of the major industrial manufacturers(i.e. AllenBradly Siemens etc.).
- Experiencewith ethernetbased distributed remote I / Osystems.
- Must be proficient in the use ofMicrosoft Windows and Office environments.
- Mustbe organized and technically competent have effective oral andwritten communications experienced in working in a multidisciplinedenvironment and interfacing with engineers designers anddrafters.
- Must be able to travel upto 30% worst case (10% worst case with last couple of years ofprojects).
- Expectedto be on client location 5 days aweek.
