As a Sous Chef, you would oversee all Back of House operations and be responsible for purchasing, receiving, preparing, and presenting all food products in a timely manner, according to established recipes and procedures.

As a Sous Chef, your responsibilities would include :

• Communicate with employees to ensure all levels of food production are executed to Cien Agaves' standards.
• Supervising and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen are met and adhered to during your scheduled shifts.
• Assist in counting, placing, and organizing food and beverage inventory.
• In conjunction with all management, enforcing compliance with all employment policies and overseeing the cleanliness of kitchen and ensure food safety at all times.
• Maintaining productivity standards to ensure efficient and timely service is met.
• Managing performance, including coaching, developing, and disciplining employees
• Assisting with the development of kitchen employees and communicating needs to all manager
• Assisting in the maintenance of food costs.
• Directly work with employees, including assisting with scheduling and hour allocation of employees.
• Assist in clerical work including, but not limited to, invoicing, receiving, and placing orders.
• Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment for the staff in a manner consistent with our core values and operational goals
• Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
• Directing productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times.
• Ensure all checklists and forms are filled out and performed to Cien Agaves' standards.
• Overseeing the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items
• Understanding, managing, and practicing safe food handling procedures
• Managing food costs, tracking waste, and controlling labor costs
• Assist Kitchen Manager with all responsibilities
• Drive sales by working with all team members to execute excellent operations and recruiting efforts.
• Conducting food service for off-site catering and marketing events.

Qualifications :

• Minimum 1 year experience in leadership of a restaurant kitchen
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• Knowledge of common food safety practices
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word
• Excellent written and communication skills
