Registered Nurse Pre-Admission Testing Full Time Days RBH

Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Pre-Admission Testing RN is responsible for obtaining appropriate required, ordered tests on selected patient populations in a safe manner.

Monitors and evaluates patients through the testing process and must be able to communicate abnormal results to physicians and other appropriate parties.

Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and good basic computer skills. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION : Graduate of accredited school of nursing

PREFERRED EDUCATION : Bachelors Degree

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 2 years clinical experience in acute care

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE :

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE :

REQUIRED COURSES / COMPLETIONS (., CPR) : Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.

The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.

Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.

Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.

Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Education :

Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.

Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

Experience :

Preferred : Recent acute care experience.

Certifications :

Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;

CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
