$2,596 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12.5 hours (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM)

Experience : Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience

License : State RN License in good standing

Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (American Heart Association)

Must-Have : Minimum 3 years of NICU experience at a Level 3 or higher facility, Trauma Level 1, travel experience, and EPIC experience

Description :

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver.

The RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.

The RN provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process.

Responsibilities and duties required by the unit are specific to the scope of service.

Procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice are implemented.

The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care.

Initial assessments upon patient admission are completed.

An appropriate plan of care is developed in accordance with unit standards.

The plan of care is based on patient and family needs.

The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.

Modifications to the plan of care are made based upon continuous evaluation.

Patient and employee safety is prioritized by reporting and / or correcting safety hazards.

Direct and private communication is used when necessary to resolve issues.

Constructive feedback is offered to assist in the professional development of peers.

Conferences with colleagues expand the knowledge base.

The RN identifies learning needs and takes initiative to address them.

All competency requirements of the department are fulfilled.

Monitors intake and output of neonatal patients.

Assists with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care.

Administers medications using proper barcode scanning.

Reports on patient assignments during multidisciplinary rounds.
