CalWest's client schools in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles are seeking Middle and High School Science Teachers starting in August 2024.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct, differentiated instruction for students, focusing on science and engineering practices like : asking questions and defining problems, developing models, analyzing and interpreting data, engaging in argument from evidence, etc.
  • Teach Science and develop curriculum and differentiating instruction for students.
  • Use classroom management systems that are focused on students’ social and emotional needs.
  • Provide a positive environment in which students are able to engage actively in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Communicate and partner effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when working with students, families, and colleagues

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Science, Education, or related field
  • Valid teaching credentials preferred
  • Three years or more of classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with and understanding of middle and high school age children and children with learning differences
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards
  • Experience with technology iPads; computers; SmartBoards
