About the Job

The University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry is seeking to recruit new tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level.

The Department of Psychiatry has identified neurodevelopment, neuroplasticity and neuromodulation as critical areas in which to promote research that will bring major advances to current knowledge about the origins and early phases of mental health disorders.

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry seeks to create new knowledge about the causes and mechanisms of mental health problems in children and adolescents, and to discover new ways to both identify these problems earlier and intervene more effectively.

Assistant Professor positions will be on the Tenure Track; candidates applying at this level are expected to have relevant training and research accomplishments consistent with developing an independent and nationally-recognized research program.

Associate Professor and Professor positions will be Tenure Track eligible or Tenure eligible; these appointments require demonstrated independence and research productivity, including a strong track record of major external funding and peer-reviewed publications.

  • Key university resources to support research in child and adolescent psychiatry include the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR), a world-class center with state-of-the-art capabilities for high-field, high-resolution imaging;
  • strong collaborative relationships with faculty in world-renowned research departments and centers such as the Institute of Child Development;
  • the Departments of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Computer Sciences and Engineering; the Center for Neurobehavioral Development;

the Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center; the Institute for Engineering in Medicine; and the Institute for Translational Research in Children's Mental Health.

A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to support these positions.

Applications from those with backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in medicine are strongly encouraged to apply.
