Property Accountant Who :

  • Position Overview :

  • The Property Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties.
  • This role includes preparing monthly and annual statements, managing AP / AR, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with property management to resolve accounting issues.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, income statements, and variance analysis.
  • Record amortization, depreciation, accruals, and month-end journal entries.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions for assigned properties.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor property cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and financial regulations.
  • Assist with property budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily or real estate.
  • Proficiency with property management accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or Onesite).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
