Salary : $58,477.77 - $71,343.09

SUMMARY :

• Under the direction of the Mechanic Supervisor, supervise and partake in daily field operations and perform a variety of manual tasks related to all DPW capital improvement and maintenance of all the Towns vehicles and equipment.
• In connection with such operations, maintain a wide variety of special heavy construction equipment, light-medium and heavy automotive equipment as directed.
• Support Health and Safety and Commercial Driver License (CDL) programs.
• May be exposed to storm events as well as hazards including traffic, chemical, electrical, below-ground structures, and trenches.
• Shall be available for all emergency response operations.
• Assist with emergency storm operations and restoration projects.

SUPERVISION BY OTHERS :

Works under the direct supervision of a Mechanic Supervisor or other employee of a higher grade who assigns duties and inspects work for conformance with instructions. Weekly and Daily schedules are provided by the Mechanic Supervisor.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS :

Serves as a classroom and field instructor for Towns CDL Program. Responsible for the classroom portion of the CDL Program, general program support, and preparing for CDL pre-trip inspection training and other licensing requirements for Heavy Equipment Operators and other trainees.
