About The Position
Shift : Full-TimePosition Summary : Assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid. Performs diagnostic exams on patients in the specialized areas of interventional radiology.
Assists with diagnostic angiography, neuro- interventional, and other invasive procedures. Job Requirement : Education / Experience : Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required;
and one (1) year of experience in interventional radiology preferred. Licensing / Certification Requirements : State of Nevada License in Radiology.
Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Registered in Radiography. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- May require National Certification in Vascular Imaging.Knowledge : Procedures and protocols associated with area of assignment;
- specialized equipment used in area of assignment; radiography protocols and procedures; quality assurance and quality control measures;
- personal computers; anatomy and physiology of the human body; contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms; venipuncture techniques;
- department and hospital safety practices and principles; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices;
handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
- Skill : Utilizing computers and specialized application software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation; utilizing specialized equipment and techniques for diagnostic evaluation;
- applying aseptic techniques; positioning patients properly to maximize results; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds;
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
