Job Title : Workers' Compensation Adjuster
Location : Chicago (Remote Work Available)
Duration : 4 Months (Potential for Permanent Position)
Salary : $57.62 - $81.42 per hour (based on experience and location)
Overview : Our client is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Adjuster to adjudicate indemnity claims of higher technical complexity.
The ideal candidate will work under technical direction and play a critical role in addressing a backlog of claims.
Key Responsibilities :
- Adjudicate complex workers' compensation indemnity claims, ensuring compliance with policy coverage.
- Investigate claims thoroughly and promptly, including interviewing involved parties.
- Analyze claims forms, policies, and endorsements to assess loss eligibility.
- Report on claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
- Manage claims in litigation and coordinate expert resources for case resolution.
- Set claim reserves accurately and negotiate settlements effectively.
- Maintain timely diary management to promote efficient case resolution.
- Prepare detailed reports for documentation and communicate with various stakeholders.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience adjudicating indemnity workers' compensation claims in California jurisdiction.
- Active California license / Self-Insured Certificate (SIP) required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Strong negotiation skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Excellent strategic evaluation and time management skills.
- Ability to articulate financial value to multiple business levels, including CEO.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Independent worker with sound judgment.
