About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : One (1) year of nursing experience required License : Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC) Must-Have : - Flexible during holiday weeks - Limited to no requests for time off approved around holiday weeks Job Description : - Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, and is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self through attending education programs based on identified learning needs.
- Utilizes patient education materials relevant to the patient population, and assesses readiness to learn among patients, families, and caregivers.
- Assesses developmental levels of patients and factors affecting their ability to learn. - Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance in the revision of care plans as needed.
- Engages in discussion with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care and communicates relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex conditions, encompassing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans, using healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs, consulting appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues or unusual teaching needs.
- Engages in leadership activities by developing goals for professional growth, achieving goals within time frames, and participating in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Uses communication systems effectively, participates in promoting cost-effective care, and contributes feedback to coworkers.
- Maintains awareness of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting the healthcare environment and supports a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Conducts patient assessments by recognizing data from complex situations to prioritize care, assessing discharge needs, and fostering relationships with families to advocate for patient needs.
- Collaborates with patients and families to develop or update care plans, utilizing multidisciplinary resources and addressing cultural and ethnic considerations in planning patient care.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex conditions and engages in research by reading relevant journals and discussing applicable ideas with staff.
