As the Lead Cardiovascular Technician, you will provide leadership in invasive procedural areas, including providing guidance for caregiver roles and functions in the procedural area, and monitoring quality and regulatory compliance.

You will assist nursing and medical staff to provide care to patients undergoing invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, vascular, interventional radiology, and / or electrophysiology procedures.

You will also assume a leadership role in absence of manager, and deals independently with physicians and other departments on a regular basis.

Job Responsibilities : Assigns and distributes work of procedural technologists. Manages caseload as necessary; coordinating patient flow to area based on clinical information and equipment availability.

Coordinates work schedules to provide required shift and on-call coverage.Assists in the development and implementation of in-service training and new employee orientation.

Assists the manager with performance appraisals, corrective actions and approval of overtime.Supervises the department functions and resources as needed in the absence of the department manager.

Performs quality audits including technologist documentation, and completion of process confirmation.Acts as resource person in the care, maintenance and use of all specialized equipment in the troduces and trains staff on new techniques, equipment and supplies.

Has oversight for staff onboarding and follows preceptor's orientation plan for completion.Promotes a team approach both inter and intra departmentally.

Performs the job duties of a procedural technologist; performs pre-procedure preparation, post-procedure care and patient disposition in collaboration with nursing and medical staff.

Other duties as assigned.Education : Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Science OR graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program OR graduate of a Health Science program.

Certifications : Current / Active CRT License required from state of employment for Radiologic Science graduate with current / Active ARRT status as a registered Radiologic Technologist.

American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) are required.Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential required for Cath Lab / EP / Structural Heart.

Advanced certification in Interventional Radiography (VI)(ARRT) or Cardiac Interventional (CI)(ARRT) or Cardiovascular (CV)(ARRT) is preferred but required in Interventional petencies : All employees are expected to meet the standards of performance outlined in the Organizational-Wide Competencies listed below as applied to the position : Customer Service Orientation : Includes attitude, behavior, interpersonal skill, and problem solving that enable an employee to respond to internal and external customer needs and expectations in a positive manner.

Efficiency and Effectiveness : Includes quantity and quality of desired work, as well as organization skills necessary to perform successfully.

Essential Job Requirements : Includes adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines affecting the work environment, including maintenance of required competencies and communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable) : Includes overall accountability for assigned work group relative to operational goals, personnel requirements, and budgetary constraints.

As an Organization, all employees with patient contact are expected to demonstrate competencies, specific to their job duties, for the follow patient population categories : Elderly, Children, Cardiac, Neuro, Surgical, Impaired (Hearing / Visual), Cultural, Age.

Current demonstrated clinical competence.Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments / projects and respond numerous requests.

Ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department director, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

Ability to ensure operational efficiency.Ability to problem solve and make decisions.Ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and / or conflicting demands from multiple customers.

Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing work load, directing staff and carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities.

Self-starting and self-motivating.Working hours may exceed ten hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish completion of the daily surgical schedule.

Work Experience : Minimum three to five years' experience within specialty preferred.Physical Requirements : Essential Duties : Interact with patients, family's physicians and other health care workers.

Good hand coordination for positioning of probe and equipment. Good vision to analyze computer screens and VCR recordings to diagnose test results.

Physical Duties : Moderate lifting and positioning of patients. Moderate pushing and pulling of equipment.Working Conditions : 100% air conditioned.

Moderate risk of exposure to blood or airborne pathogens.Personal Protective Equipment : Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
