Santa Canela is a Mexican pastry shop & cafe and we're looking for Bakers to join the team! We’re a Los Angeles-based Mexican panadería that celebrates Mexican flavors and techniques with seasonal pastries and baked goods created by Loreto & LA Cha Cha Chás’ pastry chef, Chef Ellen. All positions will be hired as part-time with opportunity for full-time based on performance and availability.
This position will be working out of our commissary kitchen at 1991 Blake Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90039.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, bread, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality baked goods.
- Decorate and garnish baked goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management as needed
Qualifications :
Experience in bakeries, pastry shops, and / or high volume full-service restaurant preferredStrong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.Ability to understand and utilize basic math functions with fractions and decimals.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Food Handler's Certificate (preferred).Be comfortable with repetitive motions such as walking, bending and standing during your scheduled shift.Ability to carry 50 lbs.This job description is not an exclusive list of all functions of the role.
