What you’ll do :
As a Senior System Administrations Applications Engineer, you will test changes, upgrades, and new products, ensuring efficient system performance in current and future environments.
Work within current processes to ensure ownership of issues and document and improve upon troubleshooting knowledge within team.
Identify hardware, layered product, and system network problems. Research and report software bugs to the Development Departments.
Manage and coordinate resolutions of complex production support issues through completion. Work directly with development and QA departments to complete installations successfully with minimal impact to customers.
Work with developers on assurance of properly documented support procedures. Work with Tier-1 / Tier-2 resources to educate on product troubleshooting.
Develop measurements and report on key service-level metrics. Provide manager feedback on trend analysis for continual improvement and provide solution options for any gaps within support teams.
Here’s a run-down of your other responsibilities :
Orchestrating cross-functional fix agents and identifying needed resources to repair.
Providing communication for executive and global issue status reporting notification systems.
Participating in hands-on debugging and troubleshooting efforts.
Integrating various software components in a highly agile software development and delivery environment.
Working closely with development, test and project management teams and assist in each wherever possible.
Writing and building scripts to help automate various build processes in the development environment.
Analyzing logs, identifying defects, suggesting fixes and reporting results.
Ensuring high quality of development and test activities.
Prioritizing your schedule to meet tight deadlines.
Who You Are
You’re a self-motivated and proactive person who has great interpersonal skills. You manage time effectively and have strong analytical skills.
You also have the following qualifications :
Qualifications
Minimum :
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience a Ph.
D. and up to1 year of experience; or 16 years’ experience in a related field.
Fluency in one or more scripting languages (Perl, BASH, Python, Ansible, Ruby, JavaScript, Jython, etc).
1 year of experience : troubleshooting Web & Java applications including Apache, Tomcat, and JBOSS solutions.
Experience performing TCP / IP Networking and basic UNIX system level network troubleshooting.
Experience with Linux based OS.
Experience with Splunk queries; dashboard creation and New Relic.
Experience working with containerized application deployments into Kubernetes environments.
Working knowledge of software development and integration.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
Preferred :
Experience with cloud services.
SQL and thorough understanding of relational databases.
Understanding of the software development life cycle including DevOps and CI / CD pipeline Architecture.
Experience in telecommunications industry.
Experience working for a service provider.
