- GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES : *By or under the direction of the requesting physician or the reading physician, perform ordered examinations of patients for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : *
- Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of Utah Cancer Specialists and / or reading physician.
- Performs or assists in the preparation and administration of PRRT treatments and other radiopharmaceutical treatments.
- Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
- Under guidelines of set practices, administers contrast agents and / or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols.
- Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews / explains the procedure to the patient.
- Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
- Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of injection and scan rooms.
- Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.e. : time reports, billing, QA, etc.
- Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies / procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety.
- Maintains current licensure and permits to practice.
- Performs additional duties as required
- QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : *
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : *
- A.R.R.T. (N) and / or NMTCB and State License are required.
- A minimum of one year of prior nuclear medicine experience is required.
- Must be proficient in starting IVs.
- PET / CT experience
- CERTIFICATE / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : * Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
