Applied Foundation Testing isseeking an Geotechnical Engineering Technician Pile DrivingInspection to join our team. No prior experience is required as weprovide comprehensive onthejob training to equip you with theskills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role.
As aGeotechnical Engineering Technician you will work alongsideexperienced professionals in the construction industry and gainhands on experience with field testing.
In addition you will havethe opportunity to travel 60% of the time across the US. If you areeager to learn and interested in starting a career in thecommercial construction industry we would love to hear fromyou.
Job Responsibilitiesinclude / trainingprovided :
- Set upand operate equipment for construction sitetesting.
- Maintain equipment andtroubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronicequipment.
- Perform instrumentcalibrations.
- Set up data collectionsystems on construction sites and perform test measurements in thefield.
- Submit data to companyengineering staff.
- Keep projectdocumentation expense reports and timesheets.
- Perform night shift workwhennecessary.
DetailedRoles andResponsibilities :
1.Performs technical tasks to support field operations includingequipment setup / maintenance and repair strain gage installationconstruction of instrument cables construction of data acquisitionsystems and calibration ofinstruments.
2. Maintains shopcleanliness and organization and supports efficient testingactivities by maintaining field testequipment.
3. Troubleshoots andrepairs mechanical and electronic equipment in thefield.
4. Fabricates instrumentationand electronic accessories as specified by supervisingengineer.
5. Performs instrumentcalibrations including transducers and data acquisitiondevices.
6. Follows relevantprocedures and standards as well as internal quality controlpractices in all lab and fieldactivities.
7. Assists in foundationtesting services under the supervision of a cognizantengineer.
8. Identifies and correctsfaults in electrical and mechanical systems in thefield.
9. Sets up and operates thedownhole video system for inspection of drilled shaft foundationconstruction (Shaft InspectionDevice).
10. Performs field testing ofconcrete drilled shaft foundations utilizing the Crosshole SonicLogging (CSL) method.
11. PerformsDrilled Shaft Inspection.
12. Sets updata collection systems on construction sites and performs testmeasurements in the field.
13.Downloads test data to USB drive and submits data to companyengineering staff.
14. Keeps projectdocumentation expense reports and time sheetsorganized.
15. Operates variousequipment such as small gas engine generator air compressor waterpump small hand power tools (drill) mechanics hand toolsetc.
16. Performs night shift workwhenrequired.
