Goldman Sachs Financial Institutions Group provides advice and services to a range of financial institutions including banks, specialty finance companies, insurance companies, asset management firms, and financial technology companies.

With professionals in offices around the world, the group provides the full range of Goldman Sachs' investment banking services, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, financial restructurings, and risk management.

Skills And Experiences We Are Looking For

  • Strong academic record with either (i) MBA and 1+ year of investment banking experience OR (ii) Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of investment banking or equivalent experience required
  • Investment banking or equivalent experience required
  • Experience advising regional and mid-cap banks as well as traditional and fintech specialty lenders across mortgage, consumer, and commercial finance
  • Experience with buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity, and IG / HY debt financing transactions required
  • Experience across structured finance encouraged
  • Experience with conducting business, financial, and legal due diligence; preparing marketing materials, RFPs, and structuring transactions required
  • Strong financial modeling skills (including stress testing) and experience of building / maintaining operating models required
  • Experience of preparing and maintaining industry / company presentations and benchmarking materials and other process documents required
  • Experience with corporate finance and valuation analyses including DCF, LBO, merger modeling, comparable companies, precedent transactions, etc. required
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members required
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), multi-tasking, and time management skills required
  • Solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail required
  • Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities required
  • Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact required

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150,000-$225,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
