Job Description

Additional Information About the Role Responsible for managing all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure projects from Schematic Design through Close Out.

Utilizes historical project cost information and helps develop and maintain a construction cost database. Close out projects in a timely manner.

Day-to-day management of Architects, Engineers, Consultants and, other vendors as applicable. Works closely with other BJC departments such as IT and Facilities Ops.

Partners closely with BJC Engineering Team. A typical project portfolio within a 2 year budget cycle consists of >

20 active projects with an average project budget of $1M. Project locations may be at BJC Hospitals off-site locations (no overnight travel or out of town assignments).

This position falls under the category of an Owner’s-Representative model of project management. Overview BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St.

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides the necessary leadership, supervision, direction, coordination and management control for planning, design and construction projects in a manner that is consistent with and meets the demands of the strategic needs of the BJC HealthCare.

Responsibilities Develops, executes and manages the planning, design and construction process for a portfolio of small to large size programs.

Manages the scope and schedule of capital projects. Ensures educational, compliance and regulatory requirements are met as they relate to technical performance, contract administration, minority and women business enterprise participation, quality standards, substance abuse and interim life, safety, and infection control initiatives.

Leads and directs project teams of architects, engineers, contractors, sub-contractors and specialists / consultants through the interpretation, development and implementation stage of each design and construction project.

Ensures that the productivity and actions of the team meet / support the overall operational goals of the project as established by department leadership.
