Job Description

The School of Healthcare Business and Technology seeks adjunct faculty members to deliver high-quality learning experiences and education for students in the Doctor of Healthcare Administration program.

The selected candidate will have responsibilities teaching online courses to graduate students. Subject matter may include research methods and applications, graduate-level scholarly / academic writing, and epidemiology & population health.

The successful candidate will work with MCPHS instructional designers to utilize interactive, engaging online learning tools that facilitate student learning of concepts covered in courses.

  • Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology in line with those of the School, including texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure that the courses incorporate required program learning outcomes and course assessments are appropriately aligned
  • Collaborate with MCPHS Instructional Design Staff to develop or modify appropriate course shell
  • Deliver high-quality didactic education using Blackboard Ultra as the student learning management system
  • Use multiple teaching methodologies to meet the educational needs of enrolled students
  • Assess student learning and provide appropriate and timely feedback
  • Support incorporation of diversity, equity, and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities
  • Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
  • Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Required

  • Doctoral degree in business, management, administration, education, public health, or related field, preferably healthcare management
  • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching / mentoring and teaching subject matter at the college / university graduate level, preferably online
  • Commitment to graduate and / or professional education and student success
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration / staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
