Research Associate, Bioassay (Analytical Development)
The Role : We are seeking a goal-oriented Research Associate to join our analytical development team to contribute to the development of new analytical methodologies and optimize existing methods;
to establish robust assays that can be used to characterize different novel therapeutic drugs (monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, etc.
from early-stage clinical development through late-stage / commercialization and product lifecycle management.

In this role, you will be responsible for routine sample testing in support of process development, formulation development, release, stability, characterization and supporting analytical development in compliance with Agenus Quality Systems.
In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining laboratory safety and assisting lab members with lab-based regulatory and compliance obligations.
This role will be based in our laboratories in Emeryville, CA.
In the role you will :
- Perform routine and novel testing (ELISA, cell-based bioassay) to support biological therapeutic products from early-stage development through late-stage / commercialization and their lifecycle management.
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting of analytical methods as needed.
- Maintain precise documentation of experimental procedures and outcomes and maintain an up-to-date laboratory notebook.
- Analyze assay results, interpret findings accurately, and effectively present them in internal lab meetings and one-on-one discussions.
- Maintain the lab by performing routine housekeeping, including support of analytical instrument maintenance, ordering and stocking of lab supplies, maintaining reagents, sample management, and compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications : About You
- Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific field (e.g., Biochemistry, Molecular / Cell Biology or similar field).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail, quality, and compliance with strict adherence to test procedures and protocols.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
- 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Experience with ELISA, Cell / Tissue culturing, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to learn new technologies and processes in a timely manner.
- Experience with HPLC is a plus.
