Job Description
A large engineering defense client is looking to hire a Senior Control System Engineer to support an exciting project that will be converting a ground vehicle to a hybrid-electric vehicle.
The team youll be working with will comprise of Systems Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and other Firmware Engineers. Your main responsibility will be working on the control software on the hybrid-electric function.
You will be utilizing your expertise with MATLAB Simulink to build, model, and simulate a vehicle controller, along with testing and debugging the control software.
This is a remote role, but will require travel to MA and MI 1-2x per year. This position is targeting a pay rate ranging from $50-75 / hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8 years of engineering experience, and at least 4 years developing control system software
- MATLAB Simulink expertise for modeling, simulation, and testing
- Ability to read C or C++ code
- Experience developing control systems for at least one of these systems : vehicles, aircraft, motor drives, or power electronics
- Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Bachelors Degree (or additional 4 years of experience)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Familiar with engine control systems, CAN Bus, battery storage system, power management, motor drives, DC-DC converters, transmission, and traction control
- Previous experience with Army ground vehicle platforms
