Summary :

Keeps records of financial transactions for the Bank. Performs general bookkeeping, record-keeping, and balancing responsibilities including processing and verifying financial transactions. Is responsible for special research requests within the department. Stays cross trained on various aspects of the deposit operations department. Performs clerical deposit duties as directed. Provides a positive and consistent experience in every interaction with every internal and external customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Level I Specialist :

  • Provides customer support to offices for deposits and deposit inquiries.
  • Assists customers and employees with account related inquiries, including specialized research for customers, branch offices, and the department.
  • Performs all maintenance for deposit accounts including but not limited to refunds, ACH / Check Disputes, check adjustments, scanning correction errors, address changes, phone number changes and name changes, CIF, sweeps, AFTs, and stop payments.
  • Prepares CD and IRA renewal certificates as needed.
  • Reconciles GL accounts and ATM terminal balancing daily, monthly, and quarterly.
  • Review daily Synergy Reports.
  • Completes Iolta report for funding by the Deposit Operations Officer.
  • Completes account verifications and requests for information via Acuity and SSI and mail / fax / email requests.
  • Completes account verification and requests for information.
  • Cross-train on department tasks to help others as needed.
  • Handles all check card disputes including applying and removing provisional credits, sending appropriate letters, and filing dispute with proper entries.
  • Processes Insufficient Funds Report and return process daily with guidance from Manager as needed.
  • Processes daily federal returns.
  • Process ACH Files for rejected transactions and submits Notice of Corrections within NACHA rule guidelines.

  • Follows and supports the Company’s policies and procedures accurately.
  • Positively represents the Company’s culture and values.
  • Achieves annual goals as assigned.
  • Completes annual required regulatory training and Cybersecurity curriculums as assigned.

    Education, Training and / or Experience

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus two to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

    Opportunities for Promotion :

    To be eligible for a promotion, employees must be in their current role for a minimum of one and a half years (1 ½), be cross trained and complete additional duties consistently without additional supervision and support. Promotions will be obtained by showing initiative to find more efficient ways of completing tasks, troubleshooting, and behavior to be eligible for promotion.

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
