About the Electrical Project Manager / Estimator Position
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Electrical Estimator / Project Manager.
This position is within the Electrical Service Department, focused on estimating service projects for our clients.
Electrical Project Manager / Estimator Position Requirements :
- 2+ years of experience in commercial electrical projects
- Responsible for delivering precise cost and material estimates for commercial electrical projects
- Possess project management skills, including strong analytical abilities, effective communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Ensure accurate project bids and successful execution
- Review and evaluate client requests and bid documents
- Prepare and deliver detailed, accurate proposals to clients
- Coordinate and conduct project site visits
- Oversee project budgets to maintain cost efficiency
- Manage projects from initiation to completion
- Primarily an in-office role with occasional field visits
- This role reports to the Estimating Manager and involves close collaboration with the Electrical Manager
Desired Project Manager Skill Set :
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication abilities
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, timelines, and milestones
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ensure accuracy in project specifications, documentation, and reporting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Desired Estimator Skill Set :
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation techniques
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes (e.g., NEC), and regulations
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Accurately estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors
- Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and competitive bids
- Analyze project specifications to establish accurate pricing strategies
- Stay current with market prices for electrical materials and labor rates
- Assess supplier quotes and negotiate for cost efficiency
- Understand factors influencing cost fluctuations, such as supply chain dynamics or seasonal changes
- Create and manage project budgets for optimal cost-effectiveness
