Risk, Divisional Management, Vice President - SLC
RISK DIVISIONAL MANAGEMENT
The Divisional Risk Management group is responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining various aspects of the Risk Division’s governance and strategy components globally.
This group reports into the Risk Division Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief Risk Officer’s (CRO’s) Chief of Staff (CoS) and plays a key role in increasing the transparency of risks and influencing related decision making and prioritization.
The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Liaise with senior Risk division stakeholders to help drive the development of division wide programs and processes in support of strategic risk management framework and governance uplifts
- Execute and / or oversee key aspects of the operational risk framework for the Risk Division across a variety of areas including RCSA, Issue Management, Policies, Resilience, New Activities
- Drive key cross divisional risk initiatives / projects under direction of senior risk leadership of the firm
- Design and report on aspects of the Risk Division’s governance via the development of templates, standards, guidelines, and key performance indicators
- Oversee and manage the divisions key governing documents and policy stacks
- Prepare management reporting for the Board, senior management, and stakeholders across the firm in order to provide a holistic and actionable understanding of key issues and remediation
- Manage compliance with regulatory requirements and addressing periodic regulatory inquiries
QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires an energetic self-starter that can liaise with a wide variety of senior stakeholders across the firm and division globally.
The ability to operate in a fast past environment, identify potential problems and solutions, and successfully develop and leverage a network within the organization is critical.
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 - 7 years in the Financial Services / Banking industry
- Prior experience in risk management, compliance, other governance functions preferred (. Enterprise Risk, Business Control Officers)
- Strong understanding of financial and non-financial risk disciplines, including RCSA
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Assessment, process, and control-oriented mindset
- Proven experience in driving own book of work and delivering against firmwide and cross-risk initiatives
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Ability to effectively run, manage and influence multiple critical division-wide initiatives concurrently
- Programming experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus
- Ability to navigate large data sets, develop metrics and perform analysis is a plus
