PLC Maintenance Technician
Adecco has a new client in Portland, ME who is seeking a new Maintenance Technician / Specialist for their team.

Salary : $25-30 per hour
Interviews : 1 phone, 1 on-site
Start date : October or November, 2024
We have two positions, one for first shift 5 : 45am - 2 : 15pm, the second is 11 : 00am - 7 : 30pm, with some flexibility
Position Summary :
Install, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and / or electrical equipment; troubleshoot, repair, and program PLC’s on existing equipment;
Work with Engineering, Management, and Production to eliminate waste and maximize O.E.E.
Essential Functions :
- Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and facilities systems throughout the plant
- Electrical
- Perform electrical / mechanical maintenance, repairs and installation for equipment and facilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical / electronic and programmable equipment
- Understand equipment schematics (English and foreign)
- Ability to use electrical, electronic and programmable controller testing and diagnosing equipment
- Ability to do some basic circuit design as part of repair and installation procedures
- Install electrical utilities, meeting all state, local and federal codes
- General working knowledge of lockout / tagout procedures and appropriate OSHA standards
- Support and work with production departments and engineering personnel to continually improve Division TPM program
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unsafe & unusual conditions to supervisor with improvement suggestions
- Maintain necessary records
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards
- Train and mentor less experienced co workers
- Work with Engineering to rebuild, design, and upgrade new existing equipment
- Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness standards.
- Perform periodical lubrication maintenance schedule for assigned machines
- Inspect and clean tanks and lines in plant machines
- Change oil and filters on machines as scheduled
Qualifications :
- A.S. in the electrical or mechanical trades or equivalent experience
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use electrical, electronic and PLC testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical / electronic circuit design.
- Knowledge of state, local, and federal codes.
- Working knowledge of lockout-tagout, confined space, and appropriate OSHA standards.
