Job Title : Food Service Manager
Supervisor Job Title : Director of Food Services
Employment Status : Full-time; 12-month
FLSA Status : Non- Exempt
The management services offered to our family of charter schools, allows us to collectively become a change agent and national leader in urban education as evidenced by student awareness of self, high academic achievement, positive school culture and community transformation wherever we serve.
JOB GOAL : The Food Service Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the program. The Food Service Manager will direct staff to ensure consistency in the service and prepare food according to the recipe provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepare all food according to the recipe.
- Ensure staff is following the program guidelines.
- ensure that staff provide quality service.
- Ensure that food is ordered as needed.
- Ensure that all daily forms are completed.
- Ensure that inventory is maintained throughout all schools.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure that all kitchens are clean.
- Ensure that the school passes its inspections.
- Perform related work as required.
Additional Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
- Set up serving area during seasonal changes.
- Attend meeting as assigned by Chief Operating Officer.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as required.
- Be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have experience working with the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program
- 2-3 years of experience in food service and training.
- Must obtain Serv Safe Certifications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff members on all levels.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently.
Ongoing requirements
Complete 10 hours of continued education credits per year
