Bakery Clerk Overview
Provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for preparing, baking and merchandising all bakery products under the direct supervision of the Bakery Team Leader to promote optimal opportunity for sales.
Maintains a clean and sanitized work station in accordance with corporate and state sanitation regulations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting with the Bakery Operations within the retail store environment to include preparation, baking, packaging, stocking, cleaning, merchandising and final presentation of all bakery products.
- Responsible for Bakery Department equipment including but not limited to ovens, mixers, bread slicers, proofer, dishwasher, donut glazer and utensils.
- Responsible for stocking and rotating inventory to avoid the sale of stale or outdated product.
- Responsible for consulting with customers regarding special orders via the telephone or the bakery counter.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and organized work station adhering to all corporate and state sanitation regulations.
- Responsible for consistently working to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
- Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking each customer upon fulfilling their request.
- Must be familiar with state and corporate safety standards.
- Responsible for controlling shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Responsible for performing other related duties as assigned by the Bakery Team Leader and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Have strong time managment skills.
- Other duties must be assigned.
Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a food handling permit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and write at the 8th grade level.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching and climbing.
- Occasional carrying and lifting from floor to waist of up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional lifting from waist to over head of up to 28 pounds.
- Frequent gripping of up to 15 pounds.
- Frequent pushing and pulling up to 20 pounds.
- Exposure to dry flour products, including gluten.
- Ability to work in a store environment.
