Our client, a frontrunner in the thermal processing domain, is on the lookout for a Field Service Engineer to bolster their team.
The selected candidate will be pivotal in managing and coordinating activities related to the installation, investigation, and resolution of technical challenges associated with equipment, particularly industrial ovens.
The aim is to avert potential operational or service complications.Key Responsibilities : -Oversee the installation of new or modified machinery at client sites, ensuring they function according to specifications.
- Coordinate and partake in the setup of the test unit or system, linking the necessary valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubes, power sources, and indicators.
- Regulate controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power for product testing.-Examine performance reports from customers and field representatives, and inspect malfunctioning equipment to pinpoint the problem's nature and extent.
- Undertake repairs for units not meeting specifications.-Analyze findings to identify the root cause of issues and propose repair, replacement, or other corrective actions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with engineering and customer service teams to hasten repairs.-Offer on-site technical support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain performance reports.
- Evaluate technical issues to discern trends that might influence future designs, production, service, and maintenance processes, suggesting changes to prevent future challenges.
- Serve as the communication conduit between the customer and our firm, ensuring the delivery of top-notch service to the customer.
- Design and conduct equipment operational safety training, showcasing skills to trainees, which includes team members and clients.
- Propose modifications to existing quality or production standards to attain the best quality within the boundaries of equipment capability.
- Draft corrective action reports and relay issues to the management for evaluation.Qualifications : -Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a recognized two-year college or technical school.
- 6 months to 1 year in a related role or a combination of education and experience.-Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and plumbing diagrams, with the capability to troubleshoot using multi-meters and amp probes.
- Experience with programming and adjusting PLCs and VFDs.-Willingness to travel 85% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
- Demonstrated mathematical abilities and proficiency in basic arithmetic and geometry.
