Our client in Troy, MI is looking for a Senior Industrial Designer. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do :
US Electric Vehicle company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space. Our Client is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Senior Industrial Designer to join our growing team.
Our Client is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our vehicle is designed to deliver the most desirable, reliable and most efficient low cost of ownership electric vehicle on the market.
The Senior Industrial Designer will help to design and develop the broad and detailed appearance for the interior of our vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams to deliver excellence through Automotive Architecture, Body, and Component Design.
They will assist the design team in creating and defining the visual appeal of Our Client's products. The ideal candidate will be proficient at creating unique and compelling designs that propel the brand forward blending functional innovation with aesthetic appeal.
The responsibilities of the Senior Industrial Designer include but are not limited to the following :
Promote, and advise stakeholders on, the user-centric approach and apply automotive design methodologies to validate and inform design decisions.
Build relationships with key stakeholders, Brand, Commercial, Engineering and Manufacturing teams.Utilize software skills in latest versions of Automotive Design and 2D / 3D development tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite / Alias, Blender, etc.
Design and create a wide variety of Design proposals based on project definitions and requests from individual stakeholders, including Sketches, Digital Models, Visual Illustrations, prototypes, animations, etc.
Visual design of Component and customization systems, products, services, and API - responsive or adaptive for Aftermarket Strategies.
Create research-driven, data-informed designs that meet users' needs and their motivations.Performs closed-loop validation of Exterior Design with Product development teams and key partners.
Visually define ideas, design decisions, and appearance recommendations to senior level stakeholdersWhat You Will Need :
Basics :
Bachelor's degree in automotive or industrial Design, or comparable degree.5 years of professional work experience, as an Industrial designer, or similar transportation and consumer goods, offroad vehicles, appliances, or marine-related roles.
An excellent command of visual communication and evaluation and a thorough knowledge of 2d illustration and 3d development tools is necessary.
Ability to write verbal descriptions of automotive design.Familiarity of rapid prototyping tools (i.e., Milling, 3d printing etc.
Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, related to vehicle design.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language.Preferred :
Bachelor's degree in automotive or industrial Design.Ability to generate 3D digital sketch models via Alias or Blender.Successfully contributing to the completion of a production program is a plus.
Experience in automotive, or consumer products industries in the capacity of design or ergonomic related fields.Experience working within an agile development process.
Proficient in various design disciplines. (Photography, Visual Design, Information Architecture, Content Strategy, Interaction Design, Usability, User Research, Product Design.How You Will Be Successful :
