Job Title : Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
The Serenity Center is an OMH-Licensed Article 31 Mental Health Clinic, presently seeking Independent PNPs to join our new Serenity Gold Off-Site program.
The clinic received approval to set up treatment sites at a variety of Assisted Living facilities as extensions of our clinic.
Psychiatric services at these facilities must take place between the hours of 9 5 to fit into the daily operations of the assisted living homes.
Unfortunately, we do not have a collaborator available, so please apply for this position only if you are independent of collaboration.
Position Overview : The PNP :
The PNP :
- Provides psychiatric care to clients in assisted living facilities, both in-person and remotely.
- Examines, diagnoses, treats and evaluates clients who are referred for psychiatric services, delivering a comprehensive and diagnostic 90792 evaluation.
- Review medical history and related documents; order laboratory tests and evaluate results.
- Provides continuing psychiatric care, and medication management, and monitors the medical condition of clients, providing referrals when necessary.
- Prescribes and manages the medication profile of each client according to generally accepted psychiatric standards and in accordance with all codes, rules and regulations.
- Prepares and maintains all psychiatric records / reports and completes all required clinical documentation using our INSYNC EMR in a timely manner following all policies and procedures of OMH-licensed Clinics.
- Participates as part of our clinical team, conferring with the Clinical Director and psychotherapists regarding ongoing patient psychiatric services.
- Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules; participating in utilization reviews;
remaining available for emergency consultations.
Participates in REMS drug safety program
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS :
- Current New York State licensed Nurse Practitioner
- Experience working with dually diagnosed substance abuse and psychiatric patients
- Experience with recognizing and treating psychopathologies and syndromes in the Geriatric population.
- Knowledge of polypharmacy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, prescribing cascades, drug-drug interactions, and adverse drug reactions
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritize and to be detail-oriented, multi-task, and must strive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to make critical clinical decisions independently
- Strong medical / clinical understanding of the business of healthcare
Work as few as 1 day per week or up to full-time. Spanish-speaking is a plus! Immediate positions for in-person and remote services are available now! Applicants with availability only in the evenings and weekends need not apply, as the facilities require services Monday - Friday during the hours of 9-5.
Salary will be discussed at interview and will be commensurate with knowledge and experience.
