Responsibilities and Duties
- Be a reliable and dependable employee who shows up to work regularly and understands the high level of responsibility and accountability demanded from our clients and from Go-Yes Logistics Inc., as a company.
- Strong knowledge of Houston Ports, Rails, Intermodal Equipment, and Hazmat Documentation.
- Manage the freight chain from customers request to delivery in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Manage drivers to meet on-time requirements and efficiency levels meet company minimum on-time performance levels.
- Update contractors with important information about orders, traffic, obstacles, Appointments, proper documentation, and any additional requirements.
- Communicate with CSR and contractors on Load Pay, chassis availability, appointment times, and any necessary information while on dispatch.
- Confirm contractors completed delivery information and any additional accessorial charges that may apply.
- Work with CSR on daily accurate empty container pick-up and returns and update TMS system and notify drivers accordingly.
- Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information on all orders.
- Understand and manage cut-off times for Pick-ups and deliveries to ensure proper scheduling.
- Willingness and ability to solve contractors issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic and teamwork skills by actively contributing to their group in order to complete tasks, meet goals, actively listen to their coworkers, respect ideas, and aim to improve the process at hand.
- Must be able to properly quote ongoing lanes-based customers and spot quote based on our services.
- Must be able and willing to always keep and maintain professional business relationships with existing and future customers and their transportation needs.
- Must have knowledge of business trends, fuel trends to quote properly and efficiently.
- Must actively solicit and quote current and future clients, especially on slow seasons.
- Must have organization, planning, and time management skills to set priorities and meet assigned deadlines and Operation department goals.
- Project a courteous, professional, and positive approach with customers, employees, and authorizing agencies while providing prompt, efficient, and accurate assistance.
- Enter timely and accurate billing, generally within 24-72 hours, by entering load data including Customer Ref #, Revised rate confirmations, Additional emails, Notes, and approvals.
- Performs other duties as directed and required by upper management.
Minimum Required Qualifications :
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years or Full-Time dispatch experience. college degree preferred.
Must have a current Texas drivers license and a satisfactory criminal record.
- Vast understanding of Intermodal operations.
- Must have basic knowledge of Texas Weight, Hazmat, HOS, and DOT compliance laws and regulations.
- Ability to deal with a sporadic high stress environment.
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Strong work ethic, solid negotiation, and conflict-management skills
- Above average email management, computer and typing skills.
- Bilingual
- Spanish / English)
- Hazmat PHMSA Certification Plus
- CTPAT Customs Bond Experience Plus
Working Conditions & Benefits :
Terminal / Office environment In-Person : extended working hours and weekend on-call phone-duties may be required occasionally.
Job Type : Full-time W-2
Monday to Friday and some on-call weekends
